August 10 – August 16: Summer Daze!
August is here! Hopefully everyone is enjoying the summer, even with all of the necessary pre-cautions. We hope everyone continues practicing social distancing, wearing a mask and just going that extra mile to be careful. We need each other in this crazy climate- so be a good person.
Another thing you can do is helping out local businesses, while still being careful and considerate of the social distancing rules, of course!
Whether you are picking up groceries, shopping for a gift or something for yourself, picking up a cup of coffee or some lunch, please consider shopping local and small!
Puerto Rican Flag Raising Ceremony!
Please join Mayor Fulop, the City Council, the Office of Cultural Affairs, the Jersey City Puerto Rican Heritage, Arts and Culture organization and the Puerto Rican Community on August 10th at 2:00 pm for the Puerto Rican Flag Raising ceremony! This free ceremony will take place outside at the City Hall Plaza, everyone is welcome to attend and all participants must wear masks and follow social distancing rules.

Würstbar has some new beer selections courtesy of Source Brewing. Enjoy their outdoor dining space and prepare to chow down.
Do yourself a favor and have the Haus Poutine with the Carmela Sausage and a nice cold beer from the new selection from Source Brewing… you won’t regret it!
Take a look at their menu https://www.wurstbarjc.com/menus/
Lakoet Salon JC
Get rid of that quarantine hair, walk over to Lakoet Salon JC for a beautiful haircut, hair treatments, color, everything you need to tame those tresses. After your beautification, be sure to purchase their Blue Dew Moringa Oil Treatment, your hair will differently thank you!
Grab a cocktail (and your mask of course) and head for the shade at dullboy’s patio! Sit outside with your delicious beverage, maybe add a bite or two to the table (may we suggest the fried chicken sandwich or the green pea fava smash; basically everything is delicious) and prepare for a relaxing night out.
dullboy is open for the patio seating and for takeout from Wednesday to Sunday 3:00 pm-close
Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
Looking for something sweet with a twist? The district has you covered. After enjoying a meal and a stroll on the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall, stop by Milk & Cream Cereal Bar on 175 Newark Avenue. We’ve said it before but YOU MUST TRY the Chocolate S’mores Galore! Another favorite is the Cookie Crisp Carnival. Unlike a test at school, there really isn’t a wrong answer when asked “What would you like?” upon entering the store. Choose your own ice cream adventure or go with the store’s recommendations- you won’t regret it!
After indulging in some alcoholic beverages, fries, sandwiches and ice creams, it might be time to hit the re-set button and get back on track physically.
And the incredible people behind Jane DO have a special going on for August: any current member of the gym can bring a friend to feel the “Jane DO” gym experience for a free one-time use only. For more information, please visit: https://www.janedo.com/

Vintage shopping and trading have never been easier or cooler!
The Connect Clothing Store is located at 280 Newark Avenue, Jersey City. Operating hours are: Tuesday – Saturday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm / Sunday and Monday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
