We are inching closer and closer to event season in the HDSID and it is gearing up to be a great one: Farmer’s Markets, Concert Series, amazing vendors, delicious food… anything you need we will have it!

Getting Organized for the Creative Brain – Artists Workshop

Join one of our great sponsors/ SID members and a 2019 Street Fair vendor on Monday, February 24th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm for an enlightening workshop. Summer Dawn Reyes director of the non-profit, Thinking In Full Color: Empowering Women of Color is hosting a Getting Organized for the Creative Brain-Artists Workshop! Even though the title has “Artist,” this workshop is not only geared towards artists and makers but anyone that needs help and guidance in the organization department. The workshop will cover:

Raise Your Mic at Grove Square

Another group that is connected to the Street Fair is the Downtown Community Church. The members volunteer every year and provide us with a ton of help on the big day. The DCC is hosting an event at Grove Square on Monday, February 24th! From 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm, do your vocal warmups ahead of time so you can belt out some power ballads and prepare to live your pop star fantasy at the DCC Raise Your Mic event at Grove Square! Bring your entourage, ahem, your friends and get ready to enjoy a night filled with good company, food, and music!

Hudson County Chapter Launch Meeting

Your Friday is about to get more interesting and inspiring! On Friday, February 28th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, join the BW NICE organization as they launch their Hudson County Chapter! BW NICE (Business Women Networking Involving Charity & Education) will host this event at The Ashford and it will feature networking opportunities with like-minded businesswomen, information on how to succeed, and a guest speaking appearance by Laura Collins who is the Director of Fund Development for Women Rising, Inc. You’ll leave this event feeling empowered and ready to conquer the world! The event is in two parts with the breakfast and networking segment taking place between 8:30 am and 9:00 am and the meeting will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Family Day at Barcade is back! Round up the little ones and prepare to have a great time filled with yummy food and old-school arcade games.
