July 27 – August 2: Hi August!
Goodbye July, and hello August! This might be the oddest summer we’ve had, but the district is still here to take care of your shopping needs and provide you with some of the best food around. We also have fun events for the kids and the entire family! So even though it’s still important we all wear masks and practice social distancing, you can still partake in fun activities and indulge in some good eats.
Pick up a new book to read at Word JC! Stop by the store and browse for books, stationary goods and kids’ books. Word is open every day from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Why not pick up a new cookbook and try something new in the kitchen? Or pick up the latest summer read to enjoy by the pool or in your living room? A Young Adult classic that you’ve been dying to read? The possibilities are endless! Head on over to Word, support a local business, and dive into another world, courtesy of reading.
Another way to support your local bookstore is to peruse and buy some amazing merch! Check it out here: https://www.wordbookstores.com/word-merch
Bang Cookies for the win once again! The place that brought you the stuffed PB&J cookie, the Boozy Cookies and so many more of your favorite treats is back with something new to indulge in…the Cookie Bowl! It’s exactly what the title says: Cookie Bowl! Forget a bread soup bowl- we are now all about the cookie and ice cream combo. Pick your cookie base, then select your choice of ice cream and include any toppings you want placed on top. Honestly, whichever combo you go for, there isn’t a wrong cookie bowl! Get your dessert at the Bang Cookies outpost on 128 Newark Avenue, Jersey City. Visit the website for more cookie goodness:
Taco Tuesdays never stop, even during social distancing and quarantine! Luckily for everyone in and around the downtown corridor, you have a wealth of riches to get your Taco Tuesday fix. Two options are: Tony Boloney’s and Orale!
Tony Boloney’s Taco Pizza: Think of this as a hybrid of Pizza Friday and Taco Tuesday. Like Hannah Montana, you get the best of both worlds.
Orale Taco Tuesday: Have your pick from the Chicken Taco and Carnitas, to the Tuna Taco and everything in between! There is something for everyone and all of them are delicious choices.
Jersey City is Open for Business!
New pole banners were placed all throughout the downtown corridor letting everyone know that our great city is back! Continue shopping, walking, frequenting and supporting the downtown area businesses.
