Once more we would like to say a huge thank you for the first responders, hospital staff, essential employees and everyone else working day and night to ensure everyone’s safety and ability to function during this crazy time.

Historic Downtown Farmer’s Market
Our Historic Downtown Jersey City Farmer’s Market is back! Slightly later than the original date, but we are back on May 11th! From 4:00 – 8:00, on Monday and Thursday, you’ll be able to get your farm-fresh produce and cooking essentials at the Grove PATH Plaza market.
The health of our farm vendors, HDSID staff, and visitors is of utmost important, so we have implemented a set of guidelines for everyone to follow. We want everyone to have an easy and stress-free time shopping for goods at the Market. Kindly take a moment to review the customer guidelines listed below. Guidelines were also implemented for the Market staff and the vendors.
We have taken into account the rules and regulations set forth by the Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services. Kindly review the guidelines before attending the Market.
- If you feel ill, please stay home
- If you’ve come into contact with someone who has either tested positive for COVID-19 or has symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home
- All customers must wear masks and gloves
- Stay 6 feet apart from other customers
- The Market will have signs, lines, and information on where to stand
- Follow the signs placed throughout the Farmer’s Market
- Customers are not allowed to touch the food. Vendors will select products for customers.
- Please consider placing and paying for your orders online, at https://www.localline.ca/historic-downtown-farmers-market
- Please do not linger at the market
- Avoid any hand-to-hand contact
- Do not hand payment to vendors directly. Place cash and credit cards on the table for the cashiers to pick up.
- No dogs are allowed at the farmers’ market unless they are service dogs

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine
An organization that is trying to fix the issue of food waste and food insecurity is Rescuing Leftover Cuisine! From directing excess food to communities that need food, this great organization is helping solve two problems. They are a non-profit food rescue organization doing amazing work! Another great initiative, this time courtesy of a HDSID member, is from Barcade! Barcade will assist and facilitate the donation of meals to our fellow citizens in need. You can fill out a form to donate meals and Barcade will match the donation, meal for meal.

3rd Annual Yoga & Vegan Fest Jersey City!
We all need something to look forward to during these crazy times and what’s a more appropriate event than Yoga Fest! The 3rd Annual Yoga Fest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 20th from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall.
Jivamukti Yoga Studio is doing an amazing job bringing together different teachers, musicians and vendors for the day!
This year’s event will feature: yoga classes and workshops for all levels and ages, yummy vegan food vendors, speakers, a mindfulness tent, music, eco-friendly shopping vendors and much more!
