WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Bring one to three plants to trade (pest free/ bare root or potted). Please label them in advance with as much information as possible (for example: plant name, preferred light conditions, etc). This is the one time where size really doesn’t matter: we love them all, from tiny seedlings to big bushes. Just be prepared to part with whatever you bring and ready to adopt a new addition into your plant family.
WHAT TO EXPECT / WHAT YOU GET
The event cost is $40 and includes the following:
GIVEAWAYS: At check-in each participant will receive a custom tote filled with garden-themed goodies like seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, lip balm from The Lucky Honey Bee, accessories from The Moxie Fox, greeting cards from One Canoe Two, a local magazine from EIGHTY, swag from Kanibal & Co. + more.
In addition, Kelly Mac Interiorscapes will be gifting each participant a plant. Staff members will also be available to answer personalized plant questions throughout the entire event.
PLANT EXCHANGE: Bring one plant, swap one plant. Bring three, swap three! Plants can be purchased, grown, inherited, etc. We’ll walk you through how to plant swap like a pro.
REFRESHMENTS: Complimentary botanical mocktails and plant-based bites will be catered from FRANKIE, an Australian restaurant + bar. Garden party décor will be provided by Rifle Paper Co.
INFO SESSION: The Community Compost Co. will be at the event to give the dirt on … dirt! They’ll discuss topics such as: why we should compost and how we can make the most of our food scraps (even in small urban environments), composting myths (we promise, if done correctly it doesn’t smell!), composting best practices (what to and not to compost) as well as the easiest way to create your own “black gold”. The info session will finish with a Q&A segment.
Cash bar provided by FRANKIE (21+ / ID mandatory). FRANKIE will be serving an assortment of natural wine and botanical cocktails.
