This Week in the HDSID: November 19 – November 25

Get your sweatpants ready; it’s Thanksgiving this week! Whether you are spending the day fully engulfed in food or volunteering for a worthy cause, it’s a day to reflect on all the things and people we are grateful for having in our lives.

The HDSID Farmer’s Market is back on Monday but will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd!

The monthly board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Caucus Room in City HallAll are welcome!

You might want to stop by the Historic Downtown’s Farmer’s market on Monday to pick up some goodies for the Big Meal or if you’re not cooking and need a hostess gift, our Market still has you covered!

Get your fresh produce and pies (yes, pies) from Ort Farms or Stony Hill Farms. Or if you are more a cookie fan, check out out Bang Cookies at the Market. S’mores, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip…the options are endless.

Let’s just say you can’t make it to the Market on Monday (why? we don’t know) don’t worry! The HDSID businesses have you covered: get some chocolates from the Atelier du Chocolat (321 Marin Bloulevard). Your hostess will definitely appreciate that gift.

Let’s say you don’t want to go the traditional route with a turkey…Get some fresh shrimps or scallops at the Jersey City Fish Stand (508 Jersey Avenue)  Or maybe you and your family want to go the vegan route? Try out Subia’s Vegan Cafe and Market (506 Jersey Avenue) Try something completely out of the box! Go crazy and get some Koro Koro rice balls (538 Jersey Avenue) So good- you won’t even miss the turkey!

Whatever you are in the mood for this Thanksgiving and this Holiday Season in general just know that the HDSID and our fantastic businesses have you covered!
