Tuesday, August 8th Jersey City Art & Studio Tour Orientation

Join the Office of Cultural Affairs for an Open House presentation on 2017 JCAST plans, initiatives, and goals. Information will be provided on how to register as an artist, venue or curatorial concept. Don’t snooze! The registration deadline for the Jersey City Art & Studio Tour is August 14, 2017.


Tuesday, August 8th Heart Chakra Workshop 7pm-8pm

Learn how to use the energy of the 4th chakra to hear your intuition, unblock stagnant emotions and release fears. There will be a heart-opening meditation, moving energy practice, & a discussion on the main blocks that keep us from feeling & following our true purpose. This is the last workshop to take place at the Modern Sage storefront and will be taught by owner Leah Guy. The cost is only $5!

Wednesday, August 9th Groove on Grove & Blood Drive

New Jersey Blood Services and parent company New York Blood Center have officially declared a Blood Emergency. Inventory is low and there are not enough donors to meet patient needs at this time. All donors will receive a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card as a thank you for donating! Stay for performances by Sea of OttersTwiddlin’ Thumbs, and Hudson City Rats. 

Thursday, August 10th Loud & Proud Open Mic Night at LITM 

Kick off the Jersey Pride festivities by singing loud & proud together! Contact Samantha at samlynnlong@gmail.com to be added to the lineup, OR just show up with your instrument or track! Enjoy Pride themed specialty cocktails & enter for a chance to win some Pride swag. This is a fundraising event for Jersey City Pride, so come out to support this important local organization and festival.

Thursday, August 10th The Blue Vipers at The Archer 

The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn are an early jazz, swing, and blues band, composed of acoustic guitar/vocals, upright bass, homemade washboard percussion, trumpet and saxophone. Their repertoire of witty songs from 1920’s and 30’s. Come Swing with an ARLINGTON PARK SWIZZLE cocktail…
