Week of Sept 25th-Oct 1st

Wine Mondays @ Atlas Public House

After splurging all weekend, it’s nice to start the week out right by hitting a local spot with some Monday Madness Deals that are sure to please you and your dwindling bank account. Atlas Public House feels your pain and wants to help numb it by offering a sweet selection of $20 bottles of wine from 4pm-1am! Might have to take the later train to work on Tuesday morning…

Tuesday $1 Oysters @ Dullboy

Keep it cheap early in the week and save your pennies for the weekend by coming to one of the HDSID’s best hidden gems. It’s Happy Hour all week until 7pm with all Classic Cocktails just $7. A “classic” at DULLBOY is far from a rum & coke. Classic Cocktails here include brandy, gin, aperol, campari, and lots of other fresh ingredients like pickled onion. All night on Tuesday, enjoy $1 oysters to go with your fancy libations. They even do Tiki Thursdays!

Thursday, September 28th Brooklyn Defender Pink Night @ Barcade

Starting at 6PM you can find the new Defender IPA on tap at the bar, as well as the Brooklyn fall classics Oktoberfest and Post Road Pumpkin Ale. To honor the occasion, Barcade will be giving away special Defender pint glasses (while supplies last), as well as raffling off 2 tickets to New York Comic Con for a couple of very lucky fans.

Thursday, September 28th Open Poetry Slam @ TEA NJ

JC Local Rashad Wright hosts this performance poetry competition with up to 8 poets battling out for a chance to represent Jersey City at the National Poetry Slam! There is an open mic beforehand for musicians, stand-up comedians, poets, & tricksters. So come by Tea NJ, grab yourself a bubble tea, & support Rashad before he goes to the Individual World Poetry Slam in Spokane, WA. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Show starts at 7 PM.  Slamming is FREE. Watching is also FREE!

Smith Wine Festival @ Porta Rooftop

Learn about & taste over 100 wines from select vendors, sample small bites by Porta’s chefs, & enjoy an afternoon of live music on the Rooftop! Tickets are available at www.smithwinefestival.com. Each ticket purchased is an automatic entry into a raffle for a door prize from local vendors. $40 in advance/$45 at the door.

Sunday, October 1st Cabaret Sauvignon @ Third & Vine

Enjoy some Cabernet Sauvignon while listening to this acappella quartet with a complex bouquet of harmonies! Third & Vine is also doing “Bee’s Knees Week” with $2 from every Bee’s Knees Cocktail (Barr Hill Gin & local honey- yum!) going to support bees. We are certainly buzzing about this.

Game Day Sundays @ Wurstbar

Need a little more testosterone than wine & cheese? Wurstbar is doing Sunday Football Game Specials that will make you feel like you “scored” before the game even started. So “Czech Yourself” with a liter of Pilsner & a meaty hot dog for just $9, or cure yourself from your Saturday Hangover with an $8 Bloody Mary that is just what the coach ordered. Hangovers are the Wurst! So was that last joke. 😉
